Both. The price is for the complete tool — the metal handle and your custom brass die, assembled and ready to use.
Because the die is cut from your own artwork, it can't be used for anyone else, so custom dies aren't returnable. That's why we measure your file against the sizes above and send a proof before anything is cut — if a line is too fine to hold, we tell you before you commit.
Up to roughly the thickness of two sheets of printer paper. It handles envelopes, stationery, napkins, foil seal stickers and light card of about 120 gsm. Business card stock and kraft boxes are too thick.
Bold, simple shapes work best. Hairlines, very small type and intricate detail may not hold, because the paper has to keep the shape after it springs back. We check every file before we cut and will tell you if something needs to be thicker.
Yes. The die holder lifts out, so a new brass die can be fitted to the same handle. Replacement dies are sold separately, so one embosser can carry several designs.
Up to 6 cm / 2.36 in in from the edge of the sheet. Corners and margins are easy; the middle of a large sheet is out of reach.
